Kids Tennis Lessons
Kids Tennis: Red, Orange & Green Ball
Our Junior Tennis Program is the official development pathway for primary school aged players, designed to build strong technical foundations in a structured and progressive environment.
Using modified courts, racquets, and low-compression balls, players develop coordination, movement skills, and stroke technique in a way that supports long-term development and success in tennis.
As players progress through the stages, they are introduced to rallying, point play, and structured match situations — preparing them for advanced training and competitive pathways.
👉 Focus: technical development, coordination, progression, confidence
👉 Best for: beginners through to developing junior players
Red Ball Stage (Ages 5–8)
The Red Ball stage introduces young players to tennis through a structured and engaging development environment.
Using low-compression red balls (25% of a standard tennis ball) and modified court sizes, players are able to develop correct technique, coordination, and control from the very beginning.
Sessions focus on building strong foundations through game-based learning, helping players develop hand-eye coordination, movement skills, and basic stroke mechanics.
As players progress, they are introduced to rallying, simple tactics, scoring, and match play concepts — building confidence and preparing them for the next stage of development.
Orange Ball Stage (Ages 8–10)
The Orange Ball stage builds on foundational skills, introducing players to more advanced technique and structured rallying.
Using 50% compression balls and modified court dimensions, players develop greater control, consistency, and movement while transitioning toward full-court tennis.
Sessions focus on refining stroke mechanics, improving rally tolerance, and introducing tactical awareness through game-based learning and guided match play.
As players progress, they develop the ability to construct points, understand positioning, and compete with increased confidence — preparing them for the next stage of development.
Green Ball Stage (Ages 10+)
The Green Ball stage is the final phase of the Hot Shots pathway, preparing players for the transition to full-court tennis and yellow ball competition.
Using 75% compression balls, players develop greater control, consistency, and the ability to sustain longer rallies while refining technique under more realistic match conditions.
Sessions focus on advanced stroke development, movement efficiency, and the introduction of structured point play and competitive scenarios. Players begin to build tactical awareness, learn to construct points, and develop the consistency required for match play.
This stage ensures players are technically and tactically prepared to progress into yellow ball training and more competitive environments.
