Don’t take summer off.
Get ahead. High-performance pre-season training over the December and January holidays, so you start the new season fitter, sharper and in front of the players who took a break.
The season is won in summer
Most players switch off over the holidays and spend the first month of the new season getting back to where they were. Pre-season players come back stronger, fitter and already in rhythm.
Launch Summer Pre-Season is a full training week, three days in a row, built the way high-performance players prepare: athletic work first, then demanding squad training on court.
It’s open to players from any club. If you play fixtures or tournaments and want to train properly over summer, this is for you.
Each week
- 3 sessions · Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
- 3 hours per session, 4–7pm
- 3 hours of S&C, footwork and fitness
- 6 hours of squad training
- Coached by Pete Taylor and Mateo Julio
- $150 for the full week
Every session, two parts
Build the engine, then put it to work on court.
Athletic development
Strength and conditioning, footwork and fitness. The physical base that lets players move better, hit harder and last longer in matches.
Squad training
Two hours of demanding, purposeful tennis. High-tempo drills, live ball and point play, with players grouped by level so every session is the right challenge.
Built for players who compete
Pre-season is a full-week commitment. Players train all three days.
Pre-season is for
- UTR squad players
- Fixture players
- Tournament players
- Players from any club who want to train over summer
It’s not for
- Players wanting a one-off session

High-performance coaching
Pre-season is run by Pete Taylor and Mateo Julio, the coaches behind Launch Performance.
Pete Taylor
Head coach since 2006, with high-performance coaching throughout that time. Players from Pete’s programmes have reached the ATP Tour and the Davis Cup, won national titles and earned NCAA Division 1 scholarships.
Mateo Julio
Mateo played NCAA Division 1 college tennis at a top-15 program, so he knows first-hand what the college pathway demands. He coaches tennis and leads strength and conditioning.
